Thursday January 24th 7:00 pm
January 24th will be our Fourth Community Dinner so come out with empty bellies and open hearts! We are, as always, in need of food donations, so please contact us on the Facebook page or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have donations or leads on donations. Please keep in mind it needs to be vegetarian / vegan.
Food Not Bombs, as you probably know, is a global movement dedicated to promoting awareness of the causes of poverty and injustice while challenging our society’s out of control military spending. By coming to the dinner you are making a statement that people of all ages and backgrounds should share food and their experiences as a community.
Everything is provided except for your sweet self so be sure to come and check it out. Donations are welcome and go to covering costs and keeping the D.I.Y. open. We will be screening a documentary: Kanehsatake 270 Years of Resistance. http://www.nfb.ca/film/kanehsatake_270_years_of_resistance/
This documentary is a first-hand record of the Oka Crisis on a Mohawk reserve in Quebec. The recent Idle No More movement makes this an especially relevant time to see the film so don’t miss it.
We look forward to seeing everyone there,
Cheers from FNB Barrie.
